The Albert Park neighbourhood is located in the southwest part of Regina. Albert Park is bordered by the Lakeview neighbourhood to the north of 25th Avenue, city limits to the south of the Highway 1 Bypass, the Whitmore Park neighbourhood to the east of Albert Street and the Harbour Landing neighbourhood to the west of Lewvan Drive. Lewvan Park and Parliament Place are located within the Albert Park neighbourhood boundaries. The increase in Regina's population following World War II created a need for more residential housing. Albert Park was part of the city's post-war expansion to the suburbs in the 1950s and 60s. Suburban areas such as Albert Park were particularly popular because of the predominance of the single -detached dwelling. There was also a resurgence of apartment construction during this period.
